Amy Smart is a former American actress and model. Amy Smart, who was born and raised in California USA began her modelling in Italy. Her first role as an actor was in the TV movie Her Costly Affair. Her struggle to land the role on Starship Troopers, a film with mainly minor roles was a gruelling battle. It was a hard time when she had to change from modelling to acting as models were not thought of as actors, and they were usually granted smaller, insignificant roles. Amy did not give up. Her first roles were in The 70s followed by Varsity Blues. The 2005 romantic comedy Just Friends, which also featured Ryan Reynolds, saw her play more prominent roles. Amy received the recognition she'd been seeking for over a decade. She then continued to appear in some of the biggest movies, including the Crank series starring Jason Statham as well as Shameless in which she played an enduring character.
